Mineral fiber ceiling boards are manufactured from a mixture of natural and synthetic fibers, primarily derived from silica, gypsum, and various mineral compounds. The production process involves forming the fibers into mats, which are then compressed, dried, and cut into tiles. Laminated gypsum board consists primarily of a gypsum core sandwiched between two layers of heavy-duty paper or fiberglass. 3. Adding Cross Tees Once the main runners are in place, cross tees are installed perpendicularly, creating a grid that divides the ceiling into modular sections where tiles can be placed.
